Projected templates for upholstered furniture production

Laser layout transfers pattern outlines and assembly guides onto fabric, material lays or worktables when preparing upholstered furniture components.

A full-size upholstery pattern

Sofa, armchair and padded panel manufacturers handle many models and sizes. A laser template projector displays the selected outline on the working surface. When the model changes, the operator loads another file and can display either the complete pattern or individual elements.

Laser drawing and pattern projection displays upholstery components at full size. Laser layout for upholstered furniture helps orient fabric and place components sequentially against a digital template.

What projected guidance can do

  • Projected upholstery part outlines and reference guides.
  • Material positioning and sequential component placement guidance.
  • Comparison with the template and guidance for padded panel assembly.

What to consider when choosing a system

Check visibility on the actual fabric: dark pile, patterns and texture affect line readability. The process must account for material stretch and movement. Send patterns, lay width and the operation sequence; the system supplies projected guides rather than processing the material.
